We Believe in God the Almighty

We are followers of Jesus Christ the Lord.  Everyday in our home we pray and study the Word of God (Holy Bible, KJV).  Jesus is the foundation of everything we think and act.  He alone is our pillar of FAITH, where we believe that through His shed blood on the Cross, we can stand before the Heavenly Father with our sins washed away.
Here is a little bit of “faith history” about Derek and Kay:

Derek comes from a non-Christian family where his father is an atheist and mother is a Buddhist.  In 1999 he joined a leadership camp (organized by Christians) where he met Kay, his future wife.  Kay comes from a Christian family and she was actively involved in church fellowship at that time.  Through numerous conversations with Kay and his own research, Derek gradually came to believe that there is a Creator behind everything.  He was baptized in 2000.

Soon after they were married, in one week’s search they found a small apartment in Scarborough opposite to Go train station.  Then Derek found a job in downtown Toronto.  He simply needed to walk across the street to catch the train to work, which was very convenient for him because they didn’t have a car at that time.  In the following 4 years, they have moved 3 times.  Each time they moved, a new member was added in the family.  And when each kid was born, Derek’s salary was increased just enough to cover their expense.  They do have difficulties from time to time, just like everybody else.  However, their faith in the Lord help them face the inevitable challenges of life.

We can clearly see God’s love in our daily lives.  From finding a new home to receiving a new baby, God’s blessings are everywhere.  Love and support from families and church friends is also a good example of love from Christ.

Many people say that they don’t believe in Christ because they don’t need or can’t see Him.  We are satisfied with our lives because we have money in the bank, a job and a house to live in.  We all have plans for next month, next year or even 5 years down the road.  We think we have control of our lives.  However, who can tell what is going to happen to him in the next hour, next minute or even next second?  Anyone can die of heart attack, car accident or get killed by some gang crossfire any moment.  When one dies, the money, career and future plans don’t matter no more.  Just before one dies, he would ask himself this question:  What is the meaning of all these?

You see, you can’t bring anything with you when your time is up on this earth.  If you don’t believe there is God, then what you do in this life actually means nothing.  There will be no hope and no reason to live, because everyone has to die eventually.  But if you believe in God, that He created you and you can go back to Him after death, then all of a sudden your life is full of meaning.  You have strength and hope because God has a special reason for you to be here.  You have joy because you know you are not afraid of dying anymore and you can have eternal life, promised.  And best of all, it is a free gift from God, on the only condition that you are born again and trust in His only Son, Jesus Christ.  So what are you waiting for today?  You can contact us to get more information (free, of course).

Here are some points that we have taken from No Greater Joy Ministry:

SCRIPTURE
We believe the sixty six books of the King James Version, nothing added or deleted, constitute the whole of Scripture “given by inspiration of God” to English speaking people (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

GOD
We believe in one triune God, creator of all that is, existing in the Godhead, in perfection, before and independent of His creation. He is entire goodness, benevolent, all wise, and infinite in His attributes (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:10, 26).

JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin and walked this earth in human flesh, is the creator of Heaven and earth, (John 1:1-3) the eternal God, mutually, voluntarily, eternally, sustaining to God the Father that relationship of a son. His death was eternally ordained, and carried out under the reign of Pontius Pilate for the express purpose of providing a vicarious, legal, and just payment for the sin of the entire human race (Is. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8). He was raised from the dead on the third day in order to be the ground for the justification of all who would be saved (Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5). He is presently seated on the right hand of the Father, and will bodily, visibly return to the earth for his own(Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2).

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit to share all the attributes of the Father and Son. To speak of Him is to speak of God. The earthly ministry of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the Son to mankind, and to minister God’s presence to the world (John
16:8-11; Rom. 8:9, Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12: 4-11, 12-14, 28; 2 Cor. 3:6; Eph. 1:13-14, 17-18; Eph. 4:7-12; Eph. 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27).

SALVATION
When man reaches his state of moral accountability, and, by virtue of his personal transgression, becomes blameworthy, his only hope is a work of grace by God alone. Jesus Christ, in human flesh, lived a life of obedience to God, and by virtue of his humanity and Deity, was accounted a worthy substitute for sinning souls. His death and resurrection from the dead are the basis on which God chooses to forgive the repenting-believing sinner. The merits of Christ’s atonement potentially extend to the whole world. The ground of our salvation is the shed blood of Jesus Christ; the occasion of our salvation is our believing God in this regard.

Faith and faith alone being the requirement for the imputation of Christ’s righteousness, we believe that the believer is eternally saved in Him (John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; John 14:6).

HELL
We believe in a literal, burning hell where the damned will eternally suffer for their sin (Matt. 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Rev. 20:11-15).

HEAVEN
We believe in a literal, physical place called Heaven where God resides with an innumerable company of Cherubim, Living Creatures, Angels, and the redeemed of God (Luke 23:43; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; 3:21; I Thess. 4:16-17; Rev. 20:4-6).

THE CHURCH
We believe that the local church is an indigenous autonomous body of baptized believers, functioning within the parameters of the structure, discipline, and ministry revealed in the New Testament (1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27; Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).

BAPTISM
Water baptism by immersion is to be administered by the church to the morally-spiritually discerning who have put their faith in the finished work of Christ, and have so testified publicly. Water baptism is a picture of the “one baptism” by the Holy Spirit (Into the body of Christ), and neither of itself nor in connection with faith has any efficaciousness in regard to justification (1 Cor. 12:13).
